SLUG Magzine presents the 8th Annual SLUG Games- The Lumberjack Jam at Brighton Resort on 01.12

SALT LAKE CITY, January 11, 2008 – Timmmmbuuurrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Heads up friends! The 2008 SLUG Magazine second annual Lumberjack Jam is falling down on January 12th at Brighton Mountain resort!

Sharpen your edges and sharpen your axes, all wood structures just like last year! Complete with pancakes, flannels, and flapjacks! The course, built by Jared Winkler Brighton’s Terrain Park Manager and co-owner of KAB (Kick Ass Builders) rail-building company, will feature the finest wood products to get your jibbing senses tingling. There will also be a “Beard Growing Competition” and “Hatchet throwing Competition”, sponsored by Celtek Gloves, for all of the unemployed slack-jawed yokels to compete in. Talk about a win-win situation for contestants and spectators alike, this day will go down in infamy among the local riders of Salt Lake. All levels of competition are welcome. Divisions include mens and womens brackets, which is subdivided into 17-and-under, and an open skiing and snowboarding categories.

Registration is at 8 a.m on the 11th at the Brighton Center. The cost to enter will be $25 plus lift ticket. Discount with be available from competitors for $35. Warm-ups will be held from 9a.m-10.am. The competition itself will be held from 10a.m-2p.m (helmets required). The comp will be judged by local film crew Team Thunder, and Red Bull will provide free energy drinks to keep you rumbling and tumbling. Killer prizes will be awarded to 1st-3rd place winners. First place winners will walk away with cash and snowboards. Second and third place winners will receive items such as goggles, outerwear etc.
